What Do We Pay Attention to When Selecting and Slaughtering the Qurbani Animals?

While fulfilling the sacrifice (Qurban) worship, we observe Islamic sensitivities at every stage with a strong sense of responsibility entrusted to us.

Selecting the Best Animals Suitable for Sacrifice: There are certain conditions for an animal to be eligible for qurban. These include the animal’s age, health condition, and being among the permitted types of qurbani animals. While selecting each sacrifice, we carefully check age and health conditions one by one and choose the best animals for you under the supervision of veterinarians and qualified religious officials (Scholar–Imam–Hafiz).

Performing the Slaughter According to Islamic Procedures: One of the most important conditions for the acceptance of the qurbani is performing the slaughter with the name of Allah. Without any compromise, we recite Bismillah and Takbir for each sacrifice during the slaughter. Additionally, while transporting the animals to the slaughter area, laying them down, and performing the slaughter, we observe religious sensitivities and act with the awareness that they are being sacrificed for the sake of Allah.

Delivering the Meat to Those in Need: Along with our care during the slaughter, we also take great care after the process by properly portioning the meat to prevent waste and delivering it to pre-identified needy villages, orphanages, and Quran courses, striving to complete this act of worship in the best possible way.

• Can Adaq (nazr) qurbani be performed during Eid al-Adha?
  All Nafilah qurbanis such as vow (nazr), aqiqah, and shifa sacrifices can be slaughtered on any day, including the days of Eid al-Adha.
• Is it obligatory to sacrifice an animal during Eid al-Adha?

  Sacrificing an animal during Eid al-Adha is obligatory (wajib) for those who have the financial means. The term “wajib” refers to a ruling that is very close in strength to fard (obligatory), indicating a highly emphasized religious duty.

• Can proxy (wakalah) be given in advance for Eid al-Adha sacrifice?
  The proxy for Eid al-Adha sacrifices can be given either at the time of slaughter or at any time before the sacrifice period. However, due to high demand during mass slaughter operations, it is recommended to complete the registration in advance and grant the proxy at the time of registration.
• Is it sufficient to sacrifice one animal per family during Eid al-Adha?
  The wajib Qurbani is a sacrifice that every financially able person is required to perform. Therefore, if a family has the financial means, a separate sacrifice must be performed for each eligible individual in the household.
